Happy Birthday, Riley!

I can't believe it's already been a year since we brought home our precious little peanut. It seems impossible, really. I mean, just yesterday we were kids graduating from college. And now, we're parents to a 1 year old? Where did it all go?

We have been so grateful for all the happiness and joy Riley has brought us. Sure, there have been trials, frustrations and so many sleepless nights. But honestly, they're so small in comparison to all the wonderful little blessings she has brought us. The many smiles, laughs and ultimately the love that she's brought into our lives completely outweigh everything else.

I look back at all of the memories we've gained in past 12 months and marvel at how many firsts we've shared. That first look into her eyes. The first day home alone with her thinking OH MY GOD! What have we done? The first smile, the first laugh, the first snuggle. The first time she sat up or rolled over or said Mama. Our first Christmas. The first game of Peek-a-Boo, the first hug, the first time she slept through the night (mom and dad woke in a panic, but she was just fine), the first snow, first time in the pool, the first family portrait and, most recently, our first family vacation.

We'll be thinking about all those memories and singing Happy Birthday all day long.
